************************** * MOD4WIN Version 2.30b * ************************** * Player Engine Update * ************************** _______________________________________________________________________________ 10:56PM 12/7/95 Here is another update of the player engine for MOD4WIN 2.30. To use this update you need to have MOD4WIN 2.30 (or the 2.30a update) already installed on your system, then simply replace the file player32.dll with this new one. This update contains all the fixes from 2.30a plus new fixes as outlined below: 2.30a fixes and enhancements ============================ general: * note range limits were wrong in some formats (most notably some 4 channel FastTracker MOD's were treated as ProTracker MOD's and didn't play any notes below C-1 or above B-3) * file format detection was screwed (some FAR and MTM modules didn't play right when renamed to *.MOD) * sometimes after starting the program the player would load the module but then just sit there and do nothing for a few seconds * volume bars in effect panel didn't show in full length with extreme left or right panning OPL4: * fixed sample offset with XM's * can load true 16 bit samples (they're converted to 12 bit for now to save space in the precious OPL4 memory) * volume is adjusted correctly in accordance to the pan position GF1: * uses a better algorithm for sample uploads to minimize memory fragmentation 2.30b fixes and enhancements ============================ general: * STM/S3M fine vol slide and fine portamento effects were played correctly, but not displayed in the effect panel * fixed XM vol column effects - pan slide left/right were mixed up - fine vol slide up/down were playing right but displayed wrong - note portamento parameter was interpreted wrong * fixed problem with sample offset and pattern delay on the same line * fixed problem with 256 rows in one pattern * StereoControl effect is temporarily disabled * 669's with 128 orders didn't load * default pattern length for XM must be 64 rows * corrected minor flow control problem in S3M's * corrected minor flow control problem with looping modules OPL4: * fixed problem with 7 bit OKT samples GF1: * check for non-existing samples before attempting to play * tried to load samples when there was no more free memory _______________________________________________________________________________ I hope this update is useful to you.
